Based in Madison, Wisconsin, The Taste Buds are a two-man band consisting of
Alex LeClair and Gabe Pope. The twelve songs on Starlit Parlor were mostly
written and sung by Mr. LeClair, while Mr. Pope has functioned as producer
and multi-instrumentalist. Recording primarily took place in a makeshift
attic studio, and the sonics of Starlit Parlor may recall many of your
favorite records of the 20th century. The songs themselves form a unique
lyrical kaleidoscope, from pithy observations on love and mortality, to
dense and often humorous character studies.
